What's going on in the UFO community is, I repeat, a kind of madness.

Philip Mantle, a once noted ufologist, has become so vile and envious of UFO personality Nick Pope that Mantle's "illness" seems to be more than neurotic, pathological perhaps.

Some of Mantle's cohorts have also been afflicted, tied to Mantle who once had valid cachet but now has become the fool referenced by Puck.

But that's not the only deviance in UFO circles.

Many normal persons are trying to elevate UAP as the designation for the phenomenon we 're trying to understand.

Some remind us that UAP has been used for a long time, in some quarters, but that's not the point, as we who prefer UFO, understand the current attempt of the U.S. military to force the nebulous initialism UAP to give UFOs a patina of nebulosity, like meteorological terminologies and/or folkloric designations.

Then, there are all the argumentations, not debates or colloquies but nastiness of a puerile kind, the skeptics defending their obtuse reasoning and the rest of us trying to ignore it or offset it with reason, an example.

Finally, no one is saturated by research or investigation, rather opting for showboating and forays in podcasts and inane TV or broadcast media, that no one or few are paying attention to.

The old days of actually getting awash in UFO sightings or reports, flawed as they were, are long gone, the UFO contingent wallowing in those past efforts rather than initiating their own.

Fools, indeed.
