The 1966 Westall UFO sighting

Some skeptics insist this is a sighting amalgamated by inter-acting student contamination.

(I don't think that is exactly the case and have dealt with this event previously here.)

Are “alien abductions” real? Maybe

I’ve pretty much written off the experiencer sagas – alien abduction tales – as psychological/neurological anomalies, many the cathartic release of repressed childhood abuse (sexual and otherwise).

But in reading Albert S. Rosales’ Human Encounters books, particularly the 1930-1949 Volume, I find “abduction” accounts, such as that on Pages 194-195 from Constance Clear who provides a detailed (remembered) event from 1942 in Texas, and I come away thinking there may be another explanation.

The abductee (Constance?) recalled all the elements that show up in abductee stories: The abductors with egg-shaped heads, small nose and mouth openings, three-fingered bony hands, black, slanted, almond-shaped eyes, small stature, floating through closed walls (windows in her case) without any problems (or breakage), taken to a large object, put in a heavily-lit room,  placed on a (metal) table, and examined (painfully) by the abductors.

Such abduction details have become a meme.

Now I can’t imagine ETs able to pass through walls unimpeded and floating people upwards to spacecraft for “medical” or biological examination, especially since such behavior would indicate a consensus of curiosity that rivals insanity.

(There are easier, more sensible ways to find out what makes up a human being.)

But, in conjunction with all the alleged UFO entity encounters, not just abduction accounts, one sees a pattern that mimics insanity, not on the part of witnesses but on the part of the entities.

There seems to have been and to be intrusions of bizarre kinds into our realm of reality, not from outer space but from other dimensions, as recorders of such intrusions have surmised over the years.

It seems possible, to me, that experiencers (alien abductees) may have been assaulted by entities that somehow have access to our world, while we do not have (yet) access to their world(s).

The other-dimension advocates, in science and mythology, should, maybe, cut some slack for those thinking they have been kidnapped briefly by other beings from other realities, realities that abut ours.

When Freud and psychoanalytics abandoned hypnosis for getting at the roots of one’s neuroses, they de-established a procedure for finding out truth(s).

Hypnosis, as a practice is flawed by allowing false memories and mental accretions into recalled accounts, befouling what the analyst is seeking: the actual event causing mental anguish for patients.

UFO researchers, using hypnosis, have done a disservice to “experiencers” (UFO abductees) by taking their flooded memories as the actual account of what happened to them, researchers beclouding the event with false memories and materials that destroy the recounted episode as it actually occurred.

I’m thinking that ufologists, interested in the abductee phenomenon, use other methodologies to determine what actually occurred during remember kidnappings.

Maybe, after all, those afflicted were truly taken, for a brief time, to another reality or dimension that abides next to us or upon us.

It’s a possibility, yes?
