UFOs may not be cancer or dementia but …

That is, if UFO people – the serious people not the facile
crowd who’s in it for the thrill of mystery – want to get at the UFO enigma,
they have to set aside their proclivity for frivolity and get to work to find
out what UFOs are.
No more gatherings for bonhomie or sitting around painting
an apple or trying to gather “Likes” on Facebook.
It’s time to get down to real work to find out what UFOs
are, if you really want to know, unless you’re in this ufology thing for the
camaraderie only.
Why do I keep bitching and not do what I’m preaching? I am,
to my limited degree. But I’m no Jacques Vallee or José Caravaca or Stanton
Friedman (may he rest in peace that great guy).
I’m just a moke who’s been interested in flying saucers and
UFOs, like many who are reading this, and want to know what they may be.
I involve myself with the phenomenon more than most but get
sidetracked by my zeal for almost everything else, often finding myself
absorbed in ancient cultures, religious boogery, and dozens of other wayside
topics that I try to tie to the phenomenon, as you know, but really am not bringing
anything substantial to the discussion.
But there are those who can (and some do), yet most
Ufologists are wandering from the payload for instant banal gratifications.
The foolishness has to stop, doesn’t it? Kicking Robert
Bigelow and his pals for their UFO obsession is sour grapes and not worthy or
continuing slanders.
It’s time for UFO people to get off their arses and really
plumb the phenomenon as if it were a disease needing a cure.
Otherwise, we’re all going to die with words on our lips
like “What were those flying saucer things; I really wanted to know.”
