God dammit, UFO people!

I just read Gene Steinberg’s take, in his Paracast notification, on the History Channel’s Project Blue Book debacle.

Gene takes, like Kevin Randle, Micah Hanks, and other UFO stalwarts, the “it’s only entertainment, folks” position.

This is similar to the NAZI WWII propaganda scheme, “It’s only a few Jews, German people.”

Or the recent Trump sloughing of the U.S. Federal workers plight(s) because of the government shut down, “It’s not a real problem for those out-of-work people.”

Or more relevantly, from skeptics and news media, “UFOs are not real, a joke, only habituated by tin-foil hatted, crazy people.”

That the UFO crowd, Steinberg et al. among them, tolerates and side-steps the gross misdirection and factual flaws of the History Channel’s despicable “drama” – under the guise of a “based on fact” sobriquet, is infuriating, for some of us.

Since UFOs have been an existential (in the current use of the word) mainstay for those who are lauding the PBB mockumentary, I’m chagrinned by the laissez faire attitude of those people who have made UFOs so much of their lives that some have fallen upon hard-times financially and in other deleterious ways because of their devotion to the obdurate phenomenon.

That they won’t take History to task for its perverse presentation of serious events in the UFO panoply of iconic sightings is more than distressing, it’s sacrilegious for some of us die-hard UFO fanatics.

Being weaselly when a sleazy TV operation misconstrues facts about a topic we devote our time and lives to (some of us), makes me sick.

And don’t give me “you’re making too much of this, it’s fiction, an entertainment.” It’s more than that. It’s a slander, a libel on what we all know to be something quite different in the realm of fact and/or reality.
