In checking DrDee’s golden road to knowledge and
intellectual supremacy – the internet – in an attempt to discover the items
noted in the title of this blog post, I’m stymied by the quagmire of dross and
superficial renderings put forth, all providing no insight to my query above.
While one can sift internet offerings for valid and erudite,
enlight- ening knowledge about anything, but determining what is valid or true or
worthwhile becomes a matter of discernment that most of us are not qualified to
ascertain.: we are not experts in the matters we’re often trying to exploit in
our internet search.
DrDee has intellectual cachet but even he can be gulled by
some brilliantly concocted material added to the internet without any
corrective by higher-ups, as is the case with book publishing and especially
academic offerings.
The internet is a clot – an accumulation – of everything
like a polluted ocean where sea-life is embroiled in waste and pollution,
making the seas a source of things wonderful mixed with effluvia and corrupting
input.
So, my search for information about fiction’s origins,
story-telling, hoaxing and lies was pretty much futile although I’ll give you a
few links that may be germane or worthwhile:
Thus, to my point: reading the Verga book Flying saucers
in the sky I found citations of many early flying saucer tales that were
concoctions or tales, meaning nothing, intrinsically, but
enter- taining -- humans needing constant entertaining it appears.
One of the links above deals, superficially, with the
reasons people tell tales, or lie but that isn’t helpful for my inquiry.
Why have so many flying saucer (UFO) accounts been fictive,
made up?
What has been gained by the MJ-12 hoax or the supposed Aztec
“crash” (one of my favorite stories of flying saucers and the source for my
first oral book report in high school) or any other UFO story we all now know
to be fake?
Many UFO enthusiasts continue to promote or spread false UFO
tales. Why? They know the stories are fake or iffy but continue to hype them.
Why?
Most of us have separated the UFO wheat from the chaff but
still have to wend our way through the detritus of lies and repeating when we
are seeking useful UFO knowledge.
Why do we need to do that, in 2020?
The UFO crowd is tolerant, too much so, it seems, letting
scalawags and fools hog the spotlight or UFO venues which should be pure as a
hospital ICU.
I’m, sick of it – and DrDee’s internet or Google’s YouTube
should be expelled from our top list of sources for accurate knowledge and
wisdom.
