UFOs and their consciousness within (or without)
Copyright 2020, InterAmerica, Inc.
During a Messenger back-and-forth with Bryan Sentes,
my scholarly pal, in trying to clarify for him my view(s) on UFOs, we had this
exchange:
Bryan: I don't really understand this "human
connection" idea of yours, if it is even coherent in the first place.
Do you imagine UFOs are indifferent to humankind, like
black holes or something?
Is that kinda what you're getting at?
Me: Yep, something like that, but with "consciousness."
This goes to my “belief” that UFOs (flying saucers) are not
abstract things but are constructs with conscious behavior by those within them
or the things themselves; that is, UFOs are directed by conscious behavior.
That “conscious behavior” may only consist of awareness;
that is, UFOs are aware of humans or human activity, or any kind of Earthly
presence.
How UFOs react – why they react is another matter – is
determined by how much consciousness is imbued by UFOs themselves or any
(supposed) entities within them.
UFOs, for me, are tangible “somethings” – even when they
seem to dematerialize.
(I assume that UFOs, disappearing suddenly, are either a
return to their interdimensional state, or a back-track to their timed state
(in the future, or past). Even a Star Trek imagined cloaking ability is not
lost on me.
Bryan Sentes, in that Messenger byplay, asked, tongue
in cheek, this:
Bryan: So UFOs and/or their pilots are in some manner
conscious but essentially and absolutely indifferent to humankind?
(which is why they buzz the skies and planes and
automobiles and crowds and wave and land and come out and contact and abduct
human beings?)
UFO awareness is intrinsic, if UFOs are von Neumann probes
or other AI devices or there are entities within.
Awareness is not equivalent to consciousness, which has a
full panoply of contingencies as outlined and presented by such luminaries as
Daniel Dennett in Consciousness Explained and others.
Bryan’s parenthetical silliness, above – about UFOs buzzing
skies, planes, automobiles, and crowds, waving as they flyby, or coming out to
contact or abduct human beings -- is just a mildly sarcastic rejoinder to my
position, which, again, is that the societal activity, cultural manifestations,
and historical manifestations of humans – or even those of Earth’s flora and
fauna – have nothing to do with UFO activity, except as an awareness by UFOs or
their “operators” without any conscious consideration(s) by the things or
entities within themselves.
Trying to frame UFOs within the human matrix of Earth’s
existence offers Alien Astronaut believers a small foothold in the idea of ET
vehicles cavorting around this planet since antiquity (or before).
It just isn’t so.
The mystery of UFOs lie in subservience to their truly remote interaction with the human species.
And those who keep trying to insert a human overlay, of any
kind, upon the phenomenon is what has presented the stasis in an ex- planation for the phenomenon or its purpose.
All the flailing about by some UFO enthusiasts, as those
named above, takes us into the weeds of academic flummery, far from what UFOs
really are.
Such prognostications should be ignored, even derided, by
those hoping to come to an understanding of what UFOs are or mean.
