Two things

First off, a review of five books (with very interesting asides) about writing – how to be good at it -- by Irina Dumitrescu in TLS [Times Literary Supplement] for March 6, 2020 [Page 4 ff.] is a must read for those who presume to write, for the masses and everyone else.

There is much to quote, and I’ll do so in later postings here but this line made me happy, and is an answer to a few slugs who keep trying to rein me in:

“ … convince or compel writers to cleave too closely to a set of prescribed rules, and you chip away at who they are.” [Page 4]

Secondly, and perhaps more pertinent, I wrote earlier here that the gods are back, and they are.

The Coronavirus [Covid-19] is a sign and UFOs being spotted by Naval pilots and other credible witnesses are another, plus the impending climate disaster, storms, earthquakes, and economic woes all mimic the travails of earlier times when the gods, not extraterrestrials, had their way with us, we humans.

The Kugel book [The Great Shift] provides a litany of those ancient aggravations that more than bemused humanity and it seems we’re back to the future; that is, the gods are active once more after a hiatus that has lasted for a few thousand years. (More on that upcoming in a posting here.)

UFOs (flying saucers – my return to the term that offers substance to the phenomenon) are the mantle by which the gods and their minions (“angels”) are manifesting themselves more diligently and openly once more. (The AATIP things are examples, if they are not human prototypes.)

The resurgence of god presences (or “angelic” appearances) began anew, and afresh in 1947 or around that time, although attempts were made in the 1800s [1896 to be specific], although there were attempts off and on, to no affect, in earlier eras, as we UFO enthusiasts know.

I’m going to try and develop this conjecture of mine, which is not theological by any means but relegated to the peripheral aspects of divinity that are rather mundane, not transcendental as religions have it.
