Have we discussed this 1896-1897 [patented] Airship Schematic?

What a mess!

Watching Lee Smolin about Space and Time on YouTube, I was mildly disturbed by him separating time from space, and down- grading the importance of time in the great scheme of things.
Right after that YujaWang playing Shostakovich’s  Piano Concerto No. 1 in C minor confronted me with the disassociation of beauty in music to wildly confrontational notes and sound, ingenious as it was.

These two disparate examples of interesting things smacked of what’s going on in Ufology and the UFO community: far-flung discourse and thought that has little or nothing to do with the phenomenon itself, my postings here almost [sic] as bad.

Jung dealt with the messiness of thought in civilization around the turn of the 20th century, 1900 into the 2000 years, when art, music, science, and other cultural and thinking methods sought paths that were abstract or worse, some a kind of diverted schizophrenic milieu among human kind. [Modern Man in Search of a Soul]

The disparate thought that shows up here, in comments, has a whiff of such disparity, not as willful or zany as elsewhere, but still a scent of what we UFO enthusiasts are engaged in or subject to when we get into UFOs.

UFOs have sunk into a miasma of confusion and nonsense – something that our buddy Dominick has noted – confusing the subject and topic even further than its essence allows, perhaps.

José Caravaca seems to know what Dominick is getting at in his (Dominick’s) discourse.

Slinking around Facebook exacerbates the problem; the conversations there often replete with erroneous and self-serving flotsam, mixed with some truly intriguing items.
